Ankara, March 29 (IANS) Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has introduced value-added tax (VAT) cuts on a number of merchandise to combat inflation.
The VAT cuts included largely requirements, equivalent to hygiene merchandise and medical tools, Erdogan stated at a press convention after a cupboard assembly.
“We’ve got determined to cut back the VAT on merchandise equivalent to detergent, cleaning soap, bathroom paper, napkins and child diapers from 18 per cent to eight per cent,” Xinhua information company quoted the Turkish chief as saying.
The federal government can even scale back the monetary burden on the development trade by chopping the VAT on landed property to eight per cent, the President added.
Within the agricultural sector, the nation will scale back VAT to 1 per cent on all types of licensed seed, seedling and sapling deliveries, and to eight per cent for some merchandise equivalent to milk assortment tanks, in line with Erdogan.
