bengal councillor murder: Congress man among two councillors killed in Bengal

Two newly-elected councillors, together with a Congress councillor from Purulia’s Jhalda, have been shot lifeless at level clean vary, forward of the formation of the municipal civic boards. Tapan’s spouse claimed that Jhalda Police Station In-Cost (IC) often referred to as the deceased Kandu to intimidate him. “My husband was often intimidated by the Jhalda IC, Trinamool leaders and the relations who have been detained. We’re scared about our safety,” she informed ET.

West Bengal Pradesh Congress Committee Chief and Lok Sabha MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury visited Tapan’s house. “Tapan Kandu was intimidated by Trinamool leaders. When he refused to give up to their calls for, he was murdered,” Chowdhury mentioned.

In the meantime, one other Trinamool Councillor from Panihati, Anupam Dutta, was killed at level clean vary and the police have arrested one Amit Pandit on this connection. The locals chased Amit Pandit and helped the police arrest him. Amit alias Sambhu Pandit has been remanded to 10-day judicial custody. The locals protested the dying of Dutta who was a well-liked face within the locality.
