New Delhi, Jan 16: The CBI has arrested the director (advertising) of GAIL in a case of allegedly taking bribe of over Rs 50 lakh from perspective beneficiaries of a coverage of offering reductions to sellers promoting merchandise of the Maharatna PSU, officers mentioned Sunday.
The CBI had unearthed the alleged bribery rip-off involving Ranganathan, middlemen, and businessmen, and arrested 5 people on Saturday, they mentioned. The central company had performed searches at eight areas together with the workplace and residence of Ranganathan, they mentioned.
“Money of Rs 1.29 crore (approx), and gold jewelry & different valuables have been recovered throughout searches from the premises of mentioned accused (Ranganathan),” CBI Spokesperson RC Joshi mentioned.
It’s alleged that Ranganathan was accumulating bribes from perspective beneficiaries of reductions to personal firms shopping for petro chemical merchandise marketed by the Maharatna PSU, officers mentioned.
