A robust earthquake measuring 5.8 shook Greece’s largest island of Crete on Monday and one individual was killed when a church dome collapsed, authorities stated.
The quake, which despatched folks onto the streets and brought about harm to buildings, was described by a Greek seismologist as a “thunderbolt” with robust aftershocks.
Civil safety authorities stated 9 folks have been injured within the quake. Individuals in Heraklion rushed outside and schoolchildren gathered at school courtyards and city squares.
