Pushing security forces into civilian areas can have ‘disastrous consequences’, says PDP president Mehbooba Mufti

PDP president Mehbooba Mufti on Sunday stated the Centre was placing safety forces in “direct confrontation” with the individuals in Kashmir by pushing them into civilian areas, together with farmlands and group halls, which may result in “disastrous penalties”. She was referring to the administration’s current determination to switch land for the development of camps for the Central Reserve Police Drive.
“By pushing safety forces into civilian areas reminiscent of farming land & wedding ceremony halls, GOI is not solely choking public areas but additionally getting safety personnel into direct confrontation with individuals. This will result in disastrous penalties,” Mehbooba wrote on Twitter.
