Russia has begun round the clock monitoring to detect nuclear explosions at a newly opened facility, Interfax information company reported on Monday, citing the defence ministry.
“From July 1, 2022, with a purpose to strengthen the defence functionality of our state, shifts of the Fundamental Centre for Geophysical Monitoring started to hold out round the clock obligation,” Interfax reported citing the ministry.
The centre, which opened on June 1, is tasked with figuring out the sources of artificial “geophysical disturbances” in addition to nuclear explosions, Interfax reported.
