Shivraj Puri, the alleged mastermind behind the Rs 400-crore Citibank rip-off of 2010 who was lodged in a Bhondsi jail, has died at a Delhi hospital, officers mentioned on Friday. Puri (46) was affected by tuberculosis (TB), they mentioned.
That is the third Bhondsi jail inmate to die after affected by TB within the final 18 days, a senior official mentioned. In accordance with him, Puri was in jail since November 2020 in a case of fraud registered on the Kherki Daula police station.

On Could 2, inmate Shakeel (27) of Nuh district, who was lodged within the jail in a case below the POCSO Act, died in LRS hospital, Delhi, after affected by TB.
One other inmate, Sandeep, alias Sonu, (45) of Inchapuri village, who was convicted in a homicide case in 2010 and was affected by TB, died on Tuesday, the jail official mentioned.
