GUWAHATI: Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday stated the proposed uniform civil code (UCC) have to be carried out to curb polygamy within the larger curiosity of Muslim ladies.
“If the uniform civil code doesn’t get carried out, the polygamy system will proceed. A person will marry three-four occasions, curbing the elemental rights of a girl,” stated Sarma.
“Uniform civil code must be carried out for the larger curiosity of our Muslim ladies,” he added.
