Srinagar, April 30 (IANS) The Ministry of Civil Aviation has accepted restoration of Srinagar-Sharjah direct flights to the extent of 5 flights per week, Jammu and Kashmir (J&Okay) Lt. Governor, Manoj Sinha stated.
Sinha wrote on his Twitter (NYSE:) web page, “Ministry of Civil Aviation has accepted Srinagar-Sharjah flights to the extent of 5 flights per week regularly. My deepest gratitude to PM Narendra Modi.”
“UT administration, Ministry of Civil Aviation, GoI & Union Minister Jyotiraditya M. Scindia taking essential steps on precedence to strengthen air connectivity to cater to rising tourism & trade sectors,” he added.
The direct air hyperlink between the Kashmir Valley and the UAE was revived after 11 years on October 23, 2021, when Union House Minister, Amit Shah inaugurated a direct flight from Srinagar Worldwide Airport to Sharjah.
‘Go First’ airways had stopped working Srinagar-Sharjah flight from March 27, 2022, saying that it didn’t have the requisite bilateral rights.
Airways want bilateral rights, that are granted below air providers settlement signed between two international locations, to function scheduled worldwide passenger flights.
Direct flights between Kashmir and the UAE will assist export of J&Okay’s agricultural, horticultural produce and handicrafts to Gulf markets.
