The Central Authorities on Friday despatched groups to Maharashtra, Kerala, Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh to scrutinise 5 per cent claims filed for Covid-19 ex-gratia compensation.
“That is in pursuance of Hon’ble Supreme Court docket’s Order dated twenty fourth March 2022 handed within the Miscellaneous Software No. 1805 of 2021 in Writ Petition (Civil) No. 539 of 2021,” the Union Well being Ministry stated in a press release.
A 3 member crew can be despatched to Maharashtra led by Sunil Gupta, Principal Advisor of the Nationwide Cooperative Growth Company (NCDC). In Kerala it is going to be led by P Ravindran, advisor, Ministry of Well being and Household Welfare. The crew to Calicut in Gujarat can be led by Dr S Venkatesh, Principal Advisor at NCDC whereas in Andhra Pradesh the crew can be headed by S.Ok. Singh, Director of NCDC.
The groups will look at the on-field implementation of the ex-gratia being paid as per the instructions of the Supreme Court docket and the rules issued by the NDMA.
The groups will even undertake random scrutiny of 5 per cent claims purposes filed for cost of ex-gratia help and also will confirm the method adopted for its cost. It’ll look at the main points of instances authorised or rejected, together with its documentation or verification undertaken by the district authorities.
The ministry stated that making a false declare or submitting a false certificates to avail the ex-gratia is responsible for punishment beneath Part 52 of the Catastrophe Administration Act, 2005.
