The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have arrived in Belize as demonstrations over land rights pressured them to cancel their first large engagement of their tour.
William and Kate have been welcomed by Belize’s governor common Froya Tzalam as they flew in on RAF Voyager with its union flag paint scheme.
The Belize Defence Drive shaped a guard of honour to greet the couple and, after navy tunes have been performed by the unit’s band, William inspected the personnel.
On Friday it was introduced that the royal couple wouldn’t be visiting a cacao farm within the village of Indian Creek on Sunday morning after protests from villagers.
They have been demonstrating after they have been advised the couple’s helicopter could be touchdown on their soccer pitch.
The village can be in a land dispute regarding ancestral land with Fauna & Flora Worldwide (FFI), a conservation group of which Prince William is patron.
