New Delhi, Mar 19: Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Hyderabad Home in Delhi.The earlier India-Japan annual summit befell in Tokyo in October 2018.
Apart from key bilateral points, the scenario in Ukraine can be prone to determine within the Modi-Kishida talks.
“The summit will present a chance for either side to evaluate and strengthen the bilateral cooperation in various areas in addition to alternate views on regional and international problems with mutual curiosity in order to advance their partnership for peace, stability and prosperity within the Indo-Pacific area and past,” the Ministry of Exterior Affairs stated on Thursday.
The annual summit between Prime Minister Modi and his then Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe was cancelled in December 2019 in Guwahati within the wake of large protests rocking the Assam capital over the amended citizenship legislation.
The summit couldn’t be held in 2020 in addition to in 2021 primarily as a result of COVID-19 pandemic.
