Coimbatore, Feb 24: A fan of Tamil actor Ajith Kumar was injured when a bike-borne gang hurled a petroleum bomb at a crowd gathered exterior a cinema corridor on Thursday.
On Thursday, Ajith Kumar’s much-anticipated Tamil film Valimai hit the screens and large crowd had gathered across the theatre advanced in Gandhipuram space. Round 4.30 am, the actor’s followers have been erecting a flex board when the unknown miscreants threw a petroleum bomb and fled the spot.
The incident injured one named Kumar. It brought about tense moments within the space, the cops stated.
Police suspect rivalry between followers of the actor over erecting banners as motive behind the crime. Safety has been beefed up in entrance of different theaters within the metropolis following the incident. Investigation is underway, they added.
Valimai is produced by Bollywood’s Boney Kapoor. It’s directed by H Vinoth. Huma Qureshi performs the feminine lead. PTI
