As Ottawa police start their operation within the metropolis’s downtown core to finish the trucker protest, which has occupied the town for weeks, International’s Sean O’Shea walks via the sealed-off space the place demonstrators are gathered.
He studies police have created round 100 checkpoints within the downtown space to make sure solely those that reside or work within the core can enter.
At a press convention Thursday, Ottawa’s interim police chief, Steve Bell, says this weekend the downtown will look “very totally different” from the previous three.
