Amid the continued controversy of Hijab, Union Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment of India Ramdas Athawale on Sunday (February 13) stated that faith shouldn’t be taken to varsities.
“My suggestion is that faith shouldn’t be taken to varsities,” Athawale instructed media at the moment.
The Hijab protests started on February 4 (Friday) on the Authorities Women PU faculty in Udupi district in Karnataka when some college students alleged that that they had been barred from attending lessons sporting hijab (a scarf worn by Muslim ladies).

In the course of the protests, some college students have been allegedly denied entry to varsity sporting hijab earlier this month. The hijab row has now additionally spilled over to Rajasthan in a non-public faculty the place some ladies sporting hijab have been stopped from coming into the school.
The Supreme Courtroom on Friday refused to listen to pressing pleas referring to the hijab row in Karnataka and stated it’s “watching” what’s taking place within the state and in listening to earlier than the Excessive Courtroom.
In the meantime, on being requested about Andhra Pradesh demanding particular standing, he added, “Everyone is demanding particular standing. Andhra Pradesh is demanding particular standing, Bihar can also be demanding particular standing, Everyone is demanding particular standing which can also be an issue for the federal government of India.”
