The Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi’s nephew Bhupinder Singh Honey Jalandhar on Thursday night following day-long questioning in an unlawful sand mining case.
ED officers stated Honey was arrested beneath the provisions of the Prevention of Cash Laundering Act (PMLA) late at evening, a relative of state Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi, and others in reference to an alleged unlawful sand mining case.

Honey is the son of Channi’s sister-in-law. On January 18, the company had raided his premises and claimed to have seized about ₹8 crore money.
The Punjab CM earlier alleged {that a} current raid at his relative Bhupinder Singh Honey’s home indicated that it was a ‘revenge’ for the safety breach throughout Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s go to to Ferozepur in Punjab.
