Chief of opposition in West Bengal meeting Suvendu Adhikari on Sunday urged Saraswati Puja organisers to amply use lotus through the rituals as he hit out at TMC for insulting the nationwide flower. In an obvious dig at TMC MLA Madan Mitra who stirred a row by tearing lotus petals on digital camera and asking folks to shun utilizing it in protest towards Centre’s “discrimination” in direction of West Bengal, Adhikari mentioned such statements expose the political chapter of the ruling TMC.
“feedback, some persons are insulting our nationwide flower. They do not know the significance of lotus. They do not know that two various things can’t be linked on this trend,” he mentioned, talking at a blood donation camp at Panchla in Howrah district. The BJP chief urged organisers of group Saraswati Pujas to amply use lotus through the rituals on February 5 and 6.
“Give a befitting reply to these in Trinamool Congress who communicate towards lotus,” Adhikari added. Mitra had made the feedback at a flower present in Belgharia earlier this week, triggering an argument. “Do not use lotus. Tear the petals into items and use hibiscus as a substitute. That is our protest towards the discrimination in direction of Bengal with regard to the Padma award given to Sandhya Mukhopadhyay,” he had mentioned. Mukhopadhyay, a famous singer, had refused the Centre’s supply of a Padma Shri, stating that it was extra deserving of a junior artiste and demeaning for a singer of her stature.
