The Union Authorities has notified second section of the scheme for enhancement of competitiveness within the capital items sector with a monetary outlay of ₹1,207 crore.
The general monetary outlay would include a budgetary help from the federal government of ₹975 crore and the remainder of ₹232 crore would come by means of the trade contribution, mentioned an announcement from the ministry of heavy industries on Friday. It added that the scheme was notified on Tuesday, January 25.
“The target of section II of the scheme for enhancement of competitiveness of the capital items sector is to develop and enlarge the impression created by section I pilot scheme, thereby offering larger impetus by means of creation of a robust and globally aggressive capital items sector that contributes not less than 25% to the manufacturing sector,” it mentioned.
The scheme would contain identification of applied sciences by means of expertise innovation portals, organising of 4 new superior centres of excellence and augmentation of current centres of excellence, promotion of skilling in capital items sector–creation of qualification packages for ability ranges 6 and above.
It might additionally entail organising of 4 frequent engineering facility centres (CEFCs) and augmentation of current CEFCs together with augmentation of current testing and certification centres and organising of ten trade accelerators for expertise growth.
