Two individuals suffered critical accidents when a pick-up car, allegedly carrying stolen cattle, hit them close to Bejjavalli in Tirthahalli taluk on Tuesday.
Kiran, 23, and Sharath, 24, brothers from Kittanagadde village, noticed the car carrying cattle, allegedly stolen at Melige village, and chased it on their two-wheeler. It’s stated the pick-up car hit them earlier than the driving force sped away.
The injured have been rushed to a hospital in Tirthahalli and from there they have been shifted to Manipal for therapy. Following this incident, family members of the injured and Bajrang Dal activists gathered in Tirthahalli. They demanded that the State Authorities take strict motion towards cattle thieves and people who transport cattle illegally.
Strict motion
House Minister Araga Jnanendra, who can also be the MLA from Tirthahalli, met the injured individuals and warranted the residents of the city that the Authorities would punish cattle thieves.
The Minister informed presspersons that the legislation prohibiting cow slaughter had come into impact and it could be carried out. “I’ve instructed the police to take motion towards these concerned within the case. The injured are present process therapy at Manipal,” he stated.
