New Delhi, Nov 14: Russia has began the supply of S-400 surface-to-air missile programs to India, in line with a senior Russian official.
Russia’s Director of the Federal Service for Army-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC) Dmitry Shugaev advised Sputnik information that the deliveries are going as deliberate.
“The provides of the S-400 air defence system to India have began and are continuing on schedule,” he mentioned.
In October 2018, India had signed a $5 billion take care of Russia to purchase 5 items of the S-400 air defence missile programs, regardless of a warning from the Trump administration that going forward with the contract could invite U.S. sanctions.
India made the primary tranche of fee of round $800 million to Russia for the missile programs in 2019.
The S-400 is called Russia’s most superior long-range surface-to-air missile defence system.
Following U.S. sanctions on Turkey over the procurement of S-400 missile programs, there have been apprehensions that Washington could impose related punitive measures on India.
