Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin on Monday flagged a “wage legal responsibility” of over Rs 1,000 crore to the beneficiaries of the Mahatma Gandhi Nationwide Rural Employment Assure Scheme (MGNREGS) within the state and urged the Centre to launch funds instantly, contemplating the pageant season.
In a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Stalin mentioned MGNREGS is taken into account as a “secure livelihood alternative” in rural areas and the current delay in wage fee was inflicting hardship to many 1000’s of rural households.
