Bhopal, Oct 31: Madhya Pradesh Residence Minister Narottam Mishra on Sunday issued a 24-hour ultimatum to trend and jewelry designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee to withdraw the commercial with “objectionable and obscene” portrayal of mangalsutra or else face statutory motion.
Final week, Dabur India Personal Restricted had withdrawn its Fem cream bleach commercial, which confirmed same-sex couple celebrating Karva Chauth and watching one another by way of a sieve, after minister Mishra termed the advert as objectionable and warned that authorized steps could be taken in opposition to it.
The mangalsutra commercial by Sabyasachi’s model portrayed a lady carrying a low-neckline gown and posing solo and in intimate place with a person. After the designer shared these photos, it created an argument as a bit of social media customers termed it in opposition to Hindu tradition and obscene.
Speaking to reporters at Datia within the state, Mishra stated, “I’ve warned earlier about such ads. I’m personally warning designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee, giving him a 24-hour ultimatum. If this objectionable and obscene commercial shouldn’t be withdrawn, then a case shall be registered in opposition to him and authorized motion shall be taken. The police drive shall be despatched for the motion.”
Mishra stated that he noticed Sabyasachi Mukherjee’s mangalsutra commercial.
“It is rather objectionable. Mangalsutra is a jewelry of paramount significance. We imagine that the yellow a part of the mangalsutra signifies Goddess Parvati and the black half Lord Shiva, which protects the girl and her husband. Mangalsutra is a necklace worn by married Hindu ladies.

Whereas sharing the promotional photographs of the commercial, Sabyasachi’s official Instagram web page wrote, “Introducing the Royal Bengal Mangalsutra 1.2 and the Bengal Tiger Icon assortment of necklaces, earrings, bracelets and signet rings in 18k gold with VVS diamonds, black onyx, opals and black enamel.”
The designer has not given any assertion on the minister’s warning thus far.
