Greater than 5,000 bottles of illicit Indian Made Overseas Liquor (IMFL), being smuggled to Bhavnagar from Haryana forward of Diwali and Nootan Varsha festivals, have been seized by the police on the outskirts of Ahmedabad Sunday.
In line with police, a tanker car was seized close to a resort on the Vataman Dholera Freeway in Ahmedabad by a group of Native Crime Department (LCB) of Ahmedabad Rural Police. Upon search, police discovered 5,820 bottles of IMFL packed in 485 cartons value Rs 22 lakh within the car.
“Forward of Diwali and Nootan Varsha, police had obtained the enter that a big consignment of illicit IMFL might be smuggled by way of Ahmedabad to components of Gujarat. We had obtained a tip {that a} tanker car on its strategy to Bhavnagar is smuggling IMFL and the car was seized close to a resort in Bholad village on the Vataman Dholera freeway,” stated an official of Ahmedabad Rural police.
“ The motive force Vasudev Bishnoi (27), a local of Jalore in Rajasthan, has been arrested together with the seized IMFL. He has informed us in interrogation that he was carrying it from Gurgaon. We have now booked a case of prohibition,” the official added.
