The Canadian Coast Guard mentioned 4 cargo ship containers that went overboard from the MV Zim Kingston have washed ashore on northern Vancouver Island.
The containers went overboard on Friday when the vessel encountered tough seas.
A container fireplace broke out on the ship the next day whereas it was anchored close to Victoria. Potassium amylxanthate, a hazardous chemical extensively used within the mining business, was saved in two of the containers that caught fireplace, in addition to two of the containers that went overboard.
On Wednesday, the coast guard revised the variety of containers that fell overboard to 109, up from an authentic estimate of 40. Two of the overboard containers are holding hazardous supplies.
4 overboard containers had been noticed on the shoreline close to Cape Scott on Wednesday afternoon. A container holding fridges had damaged open, the coast guard mentioned.
