The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), which snatched energy from arch rival AIADMK in Tamil Nadu, spent over Rs 114.14 crore (Rs 1,14,14,08,525) in electioneering within the state in addition to within the adjoining union territory of Puducherry, based on its Election Expenditure Assertion submitted to the Election Fee.

Whereas the Trinamool Congress, CPI and Congress are recognised nationwide events, the DMK and AIADMK are recognised state events.
