Lava from an erupting volcano within the Canary Islands has reached the ocean, elevating fears of poisonous gases being launched because the magma hits the seawater. On Tuesday afternoon, the slow-moving lava circulation, which has diverse in pace over the previous few days, was nonetheless round 800 metres (half a mile) from the coast.
