Self-driving startup Argo AI, automaker Ford Motor Co and Walmart Inc will collectively launch an autonomous automobile supply service in Miami, Austin, and Washington, D.C, the businesses stated on Wednesday.
Preliminary integration testing is predicted to start later this yr, the businesses added.
The transfer comes as client expectations shift to next-day or same-day supply, significantly in city areas with the next focus of deliveries.
The multi-city service will permit Walmart prospects to position on-line orders of groceries and different standard gadgets for autonomous supply to their houses.
Argo’s cloud-based system will combine with Walmart’s on-line ordering platform to route orders and schedule bundle deliveries. Ford’s self-driving check autos with Argo’s self-driving system will then ship the orders to prospects.
