Covid-19: The Indian children who have forgotten how to read and write

Mr Dreze and the three different economists he’s working with plan to survey some 1,500 kids in eight different states – Assam, Maharashtra, Odisha (previously Orissa), Delhi, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh. Volunteers will go door-to-door interviewing kids between 5 and 14 years to evaluate their literacy charges in comparison with the 2011 census.
