The Union Ministry of Housing and City Affairs has recognised three municipal firms in Andhra Pradesh with ‘Water Plus’ certification. With this, Andhra Pradesh has develop into the primary state to be acknowledged with multiple ‘Water Plus’ licensed municipal company.
General, 9 municipalities throughout the nation have been awarded the ‘Water Plus’ certification.
Tirupati Municipal company, Vijayawada Municipal company, and Larger Vishakhapatnam Municipal company (GVMC) have been licensed as ‘Water Plus’ beneath the Swachh Bharat Mission and Swachh Survekshan Evaluation.
As per the present protocols prescribed by the Ministry of Housing and City Affairs, the Water plus certification is the following step after receiving Open Defecation Free (ODF/ODF+ /ODF++) standing.
The municipal firms have been awarded the ‘Water Plus’ tag for following practices corresponding to protected discharge of sewage and faecal sludge together with septage, protected cleansing of sewer and septic tanks via mechanized tools and availability of PPEs, ample capability of desludging autos and jetting machines for cleansing of septic tanks, amongst others.
